You’ve found the house you love and want to buy it right now without hesitation. The search has been a long and arduous task that has occupied all of your free time. You looked at over twenty homes that seemed to blend together as you listened to the real estate agent tell you for the hundredth time how her little Johnny is the best kid in the world and will be the next president.

You have survived the gauntlet and are now smiling because you fell in love with the perfect house. The seller has accepted your offer and you are ready to close the deal.

STOP smiling and dampen your enthusiasm for the moment. Treat this as a major business transaction and Don’t Fall in Love with the perfect home until you have ordered and completed the Home Inspection which is one of the most important parts of the home buying process. If you can’t afford to pay for a home inspection, you should not be buying a house at this time. A Home Inspection is that important to you, the buyer.

Home Inspections while usually a voluntary process for the home buyer should be a mandatory requirement in your pursuit (more…)

Spoiling Your Loved One With Special Pet Accessories

Examples of special pet accessory worth getting are designer collars and leads. These collars are not made from your average hide. A vast array of designer collars made from the finest quality leather can be found everywhere. They are aesthetically pleasing to the eye and are comfortable when worn around your pet’s neck. Moreover, purchasing these will not cause you to go broke so most pet owners love buying several designer collars at one time so that their pets can sport a different one each time they go out for a walk. Some collars are also adorned with gleaming Swarovsky gems of all colors while others are rhinestone-studded. In fact, some pet owners even go as far as to personalizing these collars by sewing on fresh water pearls on them whereas other pet lovers will order specially engraved ID tags bearing their beloved pet’s name upon the stainless sterling surface. A great idea is to seek out a beautifully crafted heart-shaped pendant that can be opened to reveal a picture taken of you and your precious pooch or kitty. That way, he or she will be easily identified and found if your pets lose their way around the neighborhood.

Family

By definition a family is a group of people who are related to each other by either blood ties or by marriage and adoption. The dictionaries define a family as a group of people in which normally two adults have a socially acceptable relationship with each other and they may have kids of their own and they may adopt the kids of other people. Home staging explained

The “For Sale” signs are popping up like wild flowers and yet the homes sit indefinitely on the market. What does one do to get a quick sell in a slow market?

Pricing your home is the number one key. Even if you have had your home appraised in the past year we suggest you have it appraised again just before listing it on the market. Set your price according to the appraisal and the comps in your area. Over pricing your home will turn potential buyers away immediately.

Condition of your home. Stop and take a good look at the current condition of your home. Ask someone with an objective view to take a look at your home and give you an honest list of what they found to be hindrances. Make the effort prior to listing your home to address each issue raised.

Make your home “stand out” in the crowd! Curb appeal is a definite. A potential buyer will drive past your home even if the price is right if they get a bad first impression from the curb. Clean up the yards and prune your trees and shrubs. Plant bright colorful flowers and put out some garden solar lights. (more…)

Call of the Mall–The Seasons of Shopping

Filed under: Shopping and Product Reviews — Tags: , , — admin @ 10:41 am

My wife and 15 year-old daughter are shopping addicts. It’s unquestionably their favorite way of mother-daughter bonding. By comparison, a request from me to my daughter to go for a hike, my favorite way of father-daughter bonding, is met with rolling eyes and the inevitable question, “How long will it be?” My daughter has been under the tutelage of my wife since she was three and was awarded her Master Shopper Certification at age 11, just a year shy of the world record 10. I don’t begrudge them this pleasure, but I am envious (maybe that’s why I’m writing this).

My wife and daughter get more pleasure out of shopping for clothes than most people do from a $40 meal, even if they come home with one $15 item (which is rare). Or, as Tammy Faye Bakker once put it, “Shopping is a lot cheaper than a psychiatrist.” When they return home from a shopping foray, my daughter tries on her purchases for me and tells me how much of a discount she got on each. Somehow $20 off a $70 sweater doesn’t have the same impression on me as it did on (more…)
